STATEWIDE CONSERVATION COMMITTEE (SCC)

Looking to get more involved in Stewards of the Wild (SOTW) and Texas conservation?

The SOTW Statewide Conservation Committee is a volunteer-led group that supports SOTW by way of bolstering the conservation education aspect of the program. The committee will provide educational resources and events, and regional project information to SOTW members, with additional support from Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) staff.

Committee Breakdown: The committee is made up of five subcommittees: Legislative, Private Lands, Game Species, Native Habitats, and Coastal. Each subcommittee is overseen by two co-chairs. Each committee member will serve a two-year term.

Committee Member Expectations: Each year, the full Statewide Conservation Committee is responsible for planning two events open to all SOTW members. Additionally, each subcommittee is responsible for planning one event open to all SOTW members each year. Each subcommittee will also work to develop content ideas for quarterly newsletters sent to SOTW members.

Committee Perks: Members of the Statewide Conservation Committee have the opportunity to participate in full committee discussions across the state and bolster their conservation knowledge. They will have priority access to Committee events, such as our annual West Texas Weekend in the Trans-Pecos, and access to other exclusive TPWF events.

Periodically, we will need to add members to the Statewide Conservation Committee. If you are interested in joining the Committee, please click here to fill out the SCC Interest Form and we will reach out to you.
