Registration

  • Includes lodging, Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and dinner, Sunday breakfast, and access to all activities. You will need to provide your own lunch on Saturday. We recommend bringing pre-made items for Saturday lunch, as we may still be on at Powderhorn at lunchtime.

    DOES NOT include Sunday morning fishing option.

    Includes Sunday morning fishing option out of Port O'Connor with our friends at Ranch Water Rentals. Fishing will be done from the boat, but wading may be an option. We can provide fishing gear or you may bring your own.

The Coastal Subcommittee of the SOTW Statewide Conservation Committee invites you to join us for a weekend on the Texas coast near Port O'Connor June 6-8, 2025!

This trip includes lodging in Port O'Connor, a visit to the Powderhorn WMA and future state park, a hands-on conservation-related activity (potentially native seed planting and/or oyster reef restoration tour), bay fishing with Ranch Water Rentals, and hearing from Sarah Affeldt, Powderhorn Superintendent, and Pat Murray of CCA! 

You must have an active Stewards of the Wild membership to register. 

Itinerary: 

Friday, June 6

  • Arrive: 4-5 PM
  • Dinner in Port O'Connor

Saturday, June 7

  • Breakfast
  • Morning activity: Tour of Powderhorn WMA 
  • Lunch 
  • Afternoon: Volunteer activity- Goose Island SP oysters tour OR grass planting at Powderhorn
  • Dinner in Port O'Connor

Sunday, June 8

  • Breakfast
  • AM: Fishing on Port O’Connor with our friends at Ranch Water Rentals
  • Depart 12:00 PM
